DescriptionThis WWII Paratrooper writing pad is a reproduction of WWII stationary from the Airborne training facility at Toccoa, GA and is approximately 9 inches x 6 inches.Soldiers would often use writing tablets or loose stationary to write letters home. Airborne troops were no exception. In fact, it’s believed that, despite the popularity and encouragement to use V-mail, most letters were written on regular stationary and sent via air mail. Base letterhead was also used for some official correspondence.Parts of the 101st Airborne Division, including the 501st, 506th, as well as the 511th and 517th Paratrooper Infantry Regiments trained at Toccoa.
