Description Details: Origin: Afghanistan Age: Circa 1980 Dimensions: 16” Description: This incredible necklace features hundreds of tiny, lapis lazuli beads, in three-strand sections, separated by larger, spherical lapis lazuli beads. Each bead, including the tiny ones, were individually and meticulously hand-carved. The hole in each of the small beads was drilled by rotating a needle attached to a piece of wood back and forth in the hands. Many man-hours were put into making each of the tiny lapis lazuli beads on this necklace.
